Scuba Diving Terms and Conditions

1. General Responsibilities

At Puffer Divers, safety is our highest priority. All diving activities are conducted in accordance with internationally recognized recreational diving standards, including SSI training and safety guidelines.

By participating in any diving activity, course, or excursion, guests acknowledge that scuba diving is an adventure activity involving inherent risks and agree to follow all instructions provided by dive professionals, boat crew, and staff members.

Guest Responsibilities

All guests agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete personal, medical, and certification information.
  • Complete all required liability, medical, and training documentation truthfully.
  • Inform staff immediately of any medical condition, injury, illness, medication, or circumstance that may affect diving safety.
  • Follow all dive briefings, safety procedures, and instructions from instructors, divemasters, and boat crew.
  • Dive within the limits of their certification, experience, training, and comfort level.
  • Use equipment responsibly and report any equipment issues immediately.
  • Refrain from any behavior that may endanger themselves, other guests, marine life, or staff.
  • Respect local laws, environmental regulations, and marine conservation practices.

The dive center reserves the right to refuse participation, suspend activities, or terminate services without refund if a guest’s behavior compromises safety or operational standards.

Dive Center Responsibilities

Puffer Divers agrees to:

  • Provide qualified and active-status dive professionals.
  • Maintain equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
  • Conduct operations with safety as the primary consideration.
  • Monitor weather, sea conditions, and operational risks.
  • Provide appropriate briefings, supervision, and emergency preparedness measures.
  • Make reasonable efforts to deliver all booked services as scheduled.

The dive center reserves the right to modify dive sites, schedules, group arrangements, or activities when deemed necessary for safety, weather, sea conditions, operational requirements, or guest welfare.

2. Reservations & Payments

  • A deposit equal to 50% of the total booking value is required to confirm any reservation.
  • No booking is considered confirmed until the deposit has been received.
  • Reservations are processed on a first-paid, first-confirmed basis.
  • The remaining balance must be paid in full before departure on the first day of the booked program, regardless of the total number of days booked.
  • Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of the reservation without guarantee of availability.

3. Cancellation Policy

Standard Cancellation

  • Cancellations requested more than 48 hours before the scheduled start of the activity are eligible for a full refund.
  • Cancellations requested within 48 hours of the scheduled start time are not eligible for a deposit refund.

Weather & Force Majeure

If a diving trip is cancelled by the dive center due to:

  • Extreme weather conditions,
  • Unsafe sea conditions,
  • Government restrictions,
  • Port closures,
  • Mechanical failure of the vessel,
  • Natural disasters,
  • Or any other force majeure event beyond reasonable control,

Guests may choose either:

  • A full refund of the affected diving activities
  • Rescheduling to an alternative available date, subject to availability and the guest’s travel schedule.

4. Course Cancellation Policy

Open Water Diver (OW) Course

Pool/Confined Water Day

If a student chooses to cancel the remaining course due to personal reasons after completing the pool/confined water training:

  • Day 1 boat diving fees are non-refundable.
  • Day 2 boat diving fees are eligible for a 50% refund.

During or After Day 1 Open Water Training

If a student chooses to cancel the remaining course at any point during or after the first day of open water training:

  • No refund will be provided for any remaining course components.

Advanced Open Water Diver (AOW) Course

Before the Second Dive on Day 1

If a student chooses to cancel participation before beginning the second dive on Day 1:

  • Day 2 boat diving fees are eligible for a 50% refund.

After the Second Dive on Day 1

If a student chooses to cancel after the second dive on Day 1:

  • No refund will be provided for any remaining course components.

All course-related refunds apply only when cancellation is initiated by the student for personal reasons and not due to circumstances caused by the dive center.

5. Rescheduling Policy

  • Rescheduling requests made more than 48 hours before the scheduled start date may be accommodated subject to availability.
  • Rescheduled activities may be subject to price differences based on seasonal rates, boat availability, operational costs, or supplier pricing.
  • Any additional fees must be paid before the rescheduled activity.
  • Approval of rescheduling requests is not guaranteed and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

6. Medical Fitness & Diving Safety

All participants must be medically fit for diving.

The dive center may require:

  • Completion of a diver medical questionnaire;
  • Physician approval before participation;
  • Additional safety assessments when deemed necessary.

The dive center reserves the right to deny diving participation if a guest appears medically unfit, impaired by alcohol or drugs, excessively fatigued, or otherwise unable to participate safely.

No refunds will be provided when participation is denied due to undisclosed medical conditions, intoxication, or failure to meet training requirements.

7. Environmental Protection

All guests are expected to:

  • Maintain proper buoyancy control.
  • Avoid touching, standing on, or damaging coral reefs.
  • Avoid harassing, feeding, or chasing marine life.
  • Follow responsible diving and snorkeling practices.

Environmental violations may result in immediate termination of diving activities without refund.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a booking deposit, making payment, or participating in any activity organized by Puffer Divers, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full.
