This internationally recognized 3-day training program is an entry-level Open Water Diver Course designed for beginners with little or no diving experience. Under the guidance of our professional SSI instructors, you'll develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to dive safely and comfortably in open water environments. Upon successfully completing the Open Water Diver Course, you will earn an SSI Open Water Diver certification, which enables you to dive worldwide with a certified buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). After this, you can advance your skills with courses like the Advanced Open Water Diver Course, Rescue Diver Course, or various Specialty Courses, and even pursue our Dive Master Course to enhance your diving expertise.

Medical Statement
All students enrolling in the Open Water Diver Course, Advanced Open Water Diver Course, or any of our Specialty Courses are required to complete and sign an SSI Medical Questionnaire before participating in any diving activities.
Water Skills Assessment
Students must successfully complete the following water fitness evaluations as part of the Rescue Diver Course or Dive Master Course prerequisites:
*200-meter swim test (any stroke, no time limit)
*10-minute survival float test

Pool Training
The first day of our programs, including the Open Water Diver Course and the Advanced Open Water Diver Course, focuses on developing your fundamental scuba diving skills in a controlled pool environment. During this session, your instructor will guide you through essential skills and safety procedures that will prepare you for open water diving and advance your training, possibly leading to courses like the Rescue Diver Course and Specialty Courses.
Training duration: approximately 6–7 hours. Exact duration may vary depending on individual performance and learning progress.

Minimum age: 12 years old. To enroll in the Open Water Diver Course, candidates must have an Open Water Diver certification (we accept students from other agencies). Additionally, a React Right certification or a current CPR & First Aid qualification is required before certification is issued. If you do not have this certification, you must complete an extra day of training before the course starts, including the Advanced Open Water Diver Course or the Rescue Diver Course if desired. Please see further details in the next section on the right regarding Specialty Courses. Lastly, you must pass a Medical Statement.

Emergency First Response (EFR) equips you with essential skills to provide immediate care during a medical emergency until professional assistance arrives. This training is crucial for anyone pursuing advanced dive certifications such as the Advanced Open Water Diver Course, Rescue Diver Course, or even the Dive Master Course. The curriculum includes life-saving techniques such as: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Rescue Breathing, Choking Management, AED Use, Patient Assessment, Bleeding Control, Bandaging Techniques, Shock Management, Injury & Illness Assessment, and Emergency Action Planning. It’s time to turn your passion for diving into leadership! This comprehensive 4-6 months leadership program, which includes elements from the Advanced Open Water Diver Course and the Dive Master Course, develops the knowledge, skills, and experience required to supervise certified divers, assist instructors during training, and serve as a role model within the diving community. Throughout the program, you will refine your diving skills, build professional-level abilities and awareness, expand your diving knowledge through the Open Water Diver Course and Rescue Diver Course, and gain real-world experience working alongside the Puffer Divers team. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore various Specialty Courses to enhance your diving expertise.

To enroll in the Advanced Open Water Diver Course, candidates must meet the following requirements: a minimum age of 18 years old, an SSI Stress & Rescue certification (or an equivalent), and a current CPR & First Aid certification. Additionally, a minimum of 40 logged dives is required to begin training for the Open Water Diver Course, while a total of at least 60 logged dives is necessary for certification. Lastly, a completed Medical Statement signed by a doctor within the last 12 months is mandatory for all Specialty Courses, including the Rescue Diver Course and Dive Master Course.

Professional dive leadership skills include supervising certified divers and assisting instructors during various courses such as the Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water Diver Course, Advanced Open Water Diver Course, Rescue Diver Course, and various Specialty Courses.
