Open Water Diver Course
Learning to dive is not as hard as you think. As soon as you can :
*Swim for more than 200m;
*Float for 10min;
*More than 10 years old ;
*Pass the medical form, or come with a permission from your doctor if you didn’t pass some of the medical form;
*Ready for some strict training .
Then you are all set to start!
Our general training schedule will last for 3 days:
*Theory will be sent and done digitally before you meet your instructor ;
*Day 1: pool sessions, it normally starts at 9:00am, end around 4:00pm with a slight lunch break next to the pool, and the exact training time will be based on the amount of students and your performance. Your instructor will make sure you fully understand and do well with all skills with enough confidence;
*Day 2: open water training dive 1 and 2. You will meet your instructor for briefing and equipment set up by 8:00am. Boat leaves the pier at 9:00am, lunch is offered on board between dives, and you should get back on land between 14:00pm – 16:00pm depending on boat schedule. Each dive should last for 30-45min depending on your air consumption. You will be doing some proper real open water dives with your buddy under the supervision of your instructor, going not deeper than 12m, completing certain skills that you learnt from day 1, and of course, at the mean time, officially exploring the magical underwater world with full sense of safety;
*Day 3: open water training dive 3 and 4. You will meet your instructor for briefing and equipment set up by 8:00am. Boat leaves the pier at 9:00am, lunch is offered on board between dives, and you should get back on land between 14:00pm – 16:00pm depending on boat schedule. Each dive should last for 30-45min depending on your air consumption. You will be completing more advanced skills that you learnt from day 1, going not deeper than 18m, showing your instructor that you are completely ready to become a certified diver. Towards the end of the day, if your instructor agrees that all your performance in the past 3 days are good enough, then you’ll be officially an Open Water Diver!
Please be aware, scuba diving is one of the extreme sports, and getting an Open Water Diver certification means you are qualified to dive almost anywhere you want with a dive buddy, you should be able to handle general fixable issues independently as a proper diver, so by paying money for the training DOES NOT mean you are surely getting certified with general training schedule. Some people may need extra days to get enough confidence, some people may need private instructor for more attention,some people may need to try again next time, there is no promise for any certification before you start your training, and extra training or private instructor does cost you more. Please feel free to send us a message, drop us an email or come visit us if you are already in Samui, our well trained staff will be more than happy to assist you with more details according to your requirements.
